Elizabeth Shogelola

Elizabeth Shogelola is a senior compliance executive with over 20 years of experience leading regulatory strategy, legal risk, and governance for international financial institutions across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
As Chief Compliance Officer/MLRO/Head of Risk at Arboris Capital, she is responsible for the firm’s global compliance framework, overseeing regulatory engagement, internal controls, risk management systems, and cross-border licensing.
Prior to joining Arboris, Elizabeth served as Chief Compliance Officer/MLRO and Head of Risk at Plus500™ DIFC, a global online trading platform.
From 2019 to 2022, she served as Vice President of Compliance and Legal at Lazard, overseeing regulatory engagement with the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) and the Capital Market Authority (CMA) in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier in her career, she served as a GRC Consultant to multinational firms including LGT, Capital Bank of Jordan, Zenith Bank, and One Financial Market. In these roles, she held senior positions in compliance and risk management, gaining extensive regional expertise across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Since 2014, she has also held an Authorised Individual function with the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).
In 2024, she was shortlisted for “Chief Compliance Officer of the Year 2024” at the Women in Governance, Risk & Compliance (WGRC) Awards.
Elizabeth holds a BSc in Business and Finance from the University of Salford and an Advanced Certificate in Compliance from the University of Manchester.
